DARE TO GIVE!

I dare to say that i learnt a bitter but incredibly strong lesson yesterday. I found out about my friend Lekan osho who needs some money to begin treatment to prevent him from from suffering further complications which may lead to paralysis.Like many of his other friends i sent out a message to encourage other people to help him but some responses i got made me angry, initially.

I feel really sad to have to write this but it is about my colleague, a friend, a brother and a former classmate (University of Lagos, faculty of Law, class of '09) who has been diagnosed of frozen shoulder syndrome.Lekan is someone who always has a word of encouragement to say when you need it. He's funny, friendly, caring and very smart always willing to help and right now he needs our help!! Oloye Gbasa, as we all fondly call him is a quiet, friendly and brilliant chap with a bright & promising future. Alas this future is now being threatened by this syndrome that's almost leading to a paralysis. It is presently estimated that he needs N500,000 (five hundred thousand naira) for medical treatment here in Nigeria. He is faced with financial constraints to come up with this money. The syndrome has rendered him almost immobile, weakening his muscles and making movement unbearable. For a young man, ready to face life with all its assets and liabilities, this is a liability too difficult to handle and this could kill the spirit psychologically. Acording to doctors, the baby boy born with six legs has had a successful operation to remove his four extra legs.The boy from Karachi in Pakistan was believed to have had a parasitic twin, which had not developed properly in the womb, resulting in the extra legs.
