There is very strong evidence that the fundamental authority in the fashion industry has been strongly with Europe and International designers such as Valentino Garavani, Alexander Mcqueen ,Tom Ford ,Betsey Johnson in the not too distant past have been the dictators of outfits worn by fashionable men and women, they have been trend setters over the years . However, times are changing and the irrational craze for international brands is fizzling out ,nowadays people all over the world are wearing outfits manufactured outside Europe .
The year 2011 brought about a significant mark in growth of the fashion industry in Africa, international fashion houses and designers like Burberry and Vivian Westwood produced collections influenced by the diverse cultures and landscape in Africa .
We love how glamorous our celebrities look when strutting down red carpets in lovely couture dresses but even more amazing it really is when international celebrities pay homage to African designers, Nigerian designers to be precise by wearing their outfits.
Here are a few international celebrities spotted in Nigerian designer wears :
Michelle Obama in a piece by Duro olowo
Kelly Rowland in Kosiba
Kellis in Jewels by Lisa
Catt Sadler in Jewels by Lisa
The Nigerian fashion industry is really taking on the world and Nigerian designers are definitely keeping international designers on their toes.
