YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR: EKPUZE ELO AMINA, CEO DIVATUDE SHOES AND PURSES

The first time i met Amina was at my friend Victoria's wedding, she wore a beautiful pair of shoes and i kept commenting on how beautiful her shoes were. Later that day we got to talk and she told showed me some of her designs, i was wowed , it was so hard to believe that such a young girl owned a company that made such beautiful shoes. 

In a bid to introduce her company to you our precious readers i had a mini-interview with her and got her to send in some of her designs. The interview and pictures when you continue..trust me you'll love this.

Ese: Tell me a bit about yourself

Amina: I am Miss Ekpuze Elo Amina (emphasis on miss, guys shes hot oh,lol), from Ofagbe, Isoko north Local Govt Area of Delta state, a graduate of Delta state University, studied fine and applied arts (i specialised in Textiles) I love designing, dancing, SHOPPING, watching movies and surfing the internet searching for anything fashion related

Ese: oh cool, so how did the whole shoe business start?

Amina: I was surfing the internet and came across this Beautiful shoes made with pearls... I'd never seen anything like it before and my curiosity to know if it was real or photo shopped pushed me to make more inquiries as to where I could get such shoes, I eventually bought a pair. 

When I got it, I was overwhelmed with satisfaction and from the first time I wore it out, everybody kept admiring and I always get complement... Lol, i was like "the girl with the million dollar shoes" a friend saw it on one occasion and asked me to get one for his wife as a surprise gift for her birthday, and that's how I made my first sale. After that people started making requests...

Ese:  what exactly do you do though? do you make the shoes from scratch?

Amina: Yes, we make them from scratch from making the shoes to designing and transferring same designs on the shoes and the amazing thing is that they are all HANDMADE.Each design, each tiny stud placed on the shoes to make DETAILED designs which is what we are about, all handmade

 Ese: Very impressive, please tell me how much do you charge for your shoes on the average..lol
Amina: Well, we are working on re-branding now so our prices have dropped to between #40,000 and #50,000 for just shoes and between #70,000 and #100,000 for shoes with purses.We also charge about #150,000 for shoes for him and her (same design for shoes (her) and sneakers (him) this includes a purse for her)
However our prices also depend on the design to be used as well as the quantity ordered.

Our designs vary based on the creativity of our clients, we make shoes with studs, pearls and Broken mirror/Glass. We even go as far as writing on shoes, could be someones name, "MARRY ME" if it's a proposal, I DO (weddings) anything at all, we also make clients own designs, it could be a fabric that they want reflected on shoes or anything.The pictures you see are adjustable and clients are at liberty to choose different styles of shoes (peep or covered toe), adjust length of heels/flats and mostly to choose their own colours.
