After the test/interview, she was asked to go in for a chat with the Chairman(this was the ultimate, the job was already hers)
She got home that day and just as she opened the door to her room, she got a call from the HR department to come pick up her employment letter the next day.
Its been 6months since she started the "dream job", the salary is good(I mean, the salary is GREAT), but in 6months, she has been forced to save her money, she hasn't been able to spend and enjoy her own money, except of course to fuel her car. She goes to work every freaking day, including saturdays and sundays.
She hasn't gone to church in 6months, because she gets back late from work on saturdays, and has to rest well on sunday morning, before she leaves for work again in the afternoon.
Her friends go on girls nights out, a day at the spa, shopping sprees, short vacations, even with their just okay salaries. She's not even had a medical check up in 6months, she feels like she's about to break down.
For most people in Nigeria(Lagos especially), they are in the same shoes, your friends envy you, cos you're earning the BIG bucks, you're also feeling all fly, because you're earning the highest salary amongst your friends, but the truth is you're not enjoying your life one bit, in fact, you're screaming HELP!!!!!!!!!, you're about to break down.
Although there are some people who get the best of both worlds, they earn the BIG bucks, at the same time have all the time to unwind, hang out with friends and family, go to the spa, go shopping, go to church, have a routine medical check up, and go on short vacations.
I would like to hear your own opinion on this, would you rather earn the BIG bucks, and not have your own "ME TIME", or otherwise?
