POWERFUL WOMAN: OMOTOLA JALADE-EKEINDE TO BECOME CHIEF IN ONDO STATE

In April, Omotola was listed as one of the most influential people in the world by TIME Magazine, named the Queen of Nollywood by UK’s The Sunday Telegraph’s Stella Magazine, and recently awarded the Ebony Vanguard Award at the M Visa Awards in Birmingham.

News reaching us is that the traditional council of the Ondo kingdom has decided to confer the movie star a high-profile chieftaincy title in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the movie industry. She is an indigene of the state. The news got me wondering though? What makes one worthy of a chieftaincy title? Money, fame, outstanding contribution to their native community? I have no idea, who knows?
